Prince Frederick, MD –ย Two Calvert County men have been indicted on drug distribution charges, documents on file in circuit court stated. The indictments of Leondre Darrius Commodore and Santana Cornell Moore, both 26 and both from Lusby, were handed down in Calvert County Circuit Court Dec. 21.
Court papers indicated the charges against Commodore for drug dealing go back to May 2014. He faces three counts of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and one count each of CDS-distribute narcotics and conspiracy CDS distribute narcotics. The latter charge is a misdemeanor and the previous four are felonies.
Moore faces one count of CDS, common nuisance, distribute narcotics; and one count of conspiracy, CDS distribute narcotic. The first charge is a felony.
According to court documents, Commodore was apprehended Oct. 29 by the Calvert County Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) while a drug deal was in progress in the parking lot of a Prince Frederick fast food restaurant. In the charging documents, Cpl. Thomas Tilley of the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office stated that the DEU was aware that on the previous day a warrant revoking Commodoreโs bond in Calvert had been issued โdue to a recent drug charge in St. Maryโs County.โ
After witnessing the transaction, detaining the purchaser and conducting a K-9 search of the vehicles used by Commodore and the drug purchaser, officers searched Commodore. โLocated on Leondre Commodoreโs person was loose U.S. currency, one Verizon Samsung cellular, one wallet with miscellaneous paperwork, one miscellaneous piece of paper and one piece of plastic straw with a powdery substance inside,โ Tilley stated. โA search of the silver Ford that Leondre Commodore was operating revealed a pill container with a ripped off label containing 82 fifteen milligram oxycodone pills located in the middle area of the rear seat, [and] a folded piece of paper containing two white pills located in the ash tray.โ
Also found in the vehicle were numerous bank documents, one clear water bottle containing urine along with a urinalysis kit and two cellular phones.
Drugsโoxycodone and tramadolโwere found in the other vehicle.
Court documents indicated Commodore remains incarcerated in the Calvert County Detention Center.
Both Commodore and Moore have pretrial hearings in circuit court tentatively scheduled for Friday, Jan. 8.
