Tall Tales Brewing Company’s Kelly Porter gives a big thumbs up to the Bourbon, Bacon and Beer Festival Saturday, Sept. 22 in Chesapeake Beach.
Chesapeake Beach, MD – The final daylight hours of the summer of 2018 proved to be a good time to raise a glass and say farewell to a memorable season. Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spaโsoon to be known as Rod โNโ Reel Resortsโhosted its first-ever โBourbon, Bacon and Beer Festivalโ Saturday, Sept. 22.
The five-hour event showcased vendors serving up samplings of distilled beverages and brews. By purchasing an admission ticket (designated drivers paid considerably less to be admitted) customers could make the rounds and taste. Food sales included โbacon-themed food.โ
Live music was performed by Out of Order and Friends.
โThe location is just beautiful, right on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay,โ said Kelly Porter, a sales representative for Tall Tales Brewing Company of Parsonsburg, which is located near Salisbury. โI found the event to be successful for a first time, many local and regional attendees. I hope as a representative from an Eastern Shore brewery to be returning to Calvert County soon.โ
As much as everyone misses summer in Chesapeake Beach, by late October many are fully into autumn and looking forward to Halloween. This year the Rod โNโ Reel is hosting Ghoulโs Night Out on the top deck of the Boardwalk Cafรฉ Saturday, Oct. 27 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Music will be provided by DJ Lady T and the evening includes a best costume contest. Attendees must be 21 years or older and there is an admission price.
