Waldorf, MD – n May 20, officers responded to the 5000 block of Seahorse Place in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the victim, who advised that several pieces of her jewelry had gone missing in the weeks prior. An investigation revealed that a relative of the victim had recently pawned several pieces of jewelry. Officers interviewed Mellique Nicholas, 20, of Waldorf, who admitted to stealing the jewelry and pawning it off. Nicholas was arrested and charged with theft scheme over $1000. Some of the stolen property was recovered at a local pawn shop. Officer C. Chamblee is investigating.
