Man arrested after beating and cutting victim

On March 31, 2015, Deputy Steinbach responded to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, for a domestic assault.

The victim alleged suspect Dewayne McClain Milburn, age 35, of California, pushed the victim onto the couch during an argument. Milburn then got on top of the victim and proceeded to punch and kick the victim in the chest, ribs, and stomach.

As the victim attempted to fend off the suspect, Milburn picked up a broken glass bottle and began to cut the victim. The victim sustained injuries on the hands, elbow, and head. Milburn also took the victim’s cell phone. 

Deputy Steinbach located Milburn and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, and Theft Under $1,000.
