On June 25, at 2:20 p.m., Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann responded to the 40000 block of Merchants Lane in Leonardtown for a reported shoplifting.
Upon arrival at the Leonardtown McKay’s Grocery Store, contact was made with a male complainant, 42 of Mechanicsville, who advised a male subject had been detained in the store as a result of attempting to leave without paying for merchandise. Arrested for theft under $1000.00 was Upton Lewis Crosby, 26 of Leonardtown.
Crosby was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
