On October 31, 2011 at approximately 3:00 a.m. deputies responded to a residence on Our Drive Way in Leonardtown, Maryland for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Gokhan Donald Ilhan Oztas, 27 of no fixed address was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Oztas punched the victim numerous times in the face and head. A third party attempted to stop Oztas from assaulting the individual. Oztas struck that victim in the face splitting her lip. Oztas fled the residence prior to the arrival of deputies but was located a short time later, arrested and charged with two counts of second degree assault.
