On Wednesday, Oct. 20 around 12:30 p.m., St. Mary’s County deputies received a call for a reported theft in the 22500 block of Three Notch Road in California.
Deputies responded to a CVS store after an off-duty deputy and several witnesses reported seeing a man running across Buck Hewitt Road in the rain with two gallon jugs of Tide detergent in each hand. The theft suspect was observed trying to catch a ride from passing motorists including the off-duty deputy. Once the suspect figured out who the off-duty deputy was, the suspect took off running.
The suspect was detained behind the Kohl’s department store and brought back to the CVS identified as Izella E. Bush, 42 of Lexington Park.
Bush was arrested and charged with Theft.
