On February 8, 2011 at 3:03 p.m., Tpr. E. T. Reuschling responded to the Belk Department Store in the 23000 block of Three Notch Road in California for a reported theft in progress.
Upon arrival, contact was made with loss prevention personnel, who advised a male subject, later identified as Terry Lynn Brown, 41, of Chesapeake Beach was observed placing perfume in his pants pockets prior to attempting to exit the store without purchasing the items.
Brown was detained by loss prevention staff until the arrival of Law Enforcement on the scene. Mr. Brown was placed under arrest for Theft Under $100.00 and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. Property was returned to the Loss Prevention Staff.
