Shaune Carter

St. Mary’s County deputies responded to the area of Hancock Road in Lexington Park on November 8th, for the report of a man with a gun. Three victims alleged suspect Shaune Donnell Carter, 24, of Bryans Road, retrieved a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at them during an argument.

Carter then left the scene in a vehicle. Corporal Kirkner saw the vehicle heading northbound on Route 235 in the area of Route 4 and was able to stop the vehicle.

A semi-automatic handgun was subsequently found in the front passenger seat. The handgun was registered to Carter. 2 loaded handgun magazines were recovered in the center console. A loaded 12 gauge shotgun with a sawed off barrel was found inside a suitcase in the trunk of the vehicle. The investigation revealed the shotgun belonged to another passenger in the vehicle suspect Preston Shaquonte Nunnally, 20, of Bryans Road.

Carter was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center. He was charged with 4 COUNTS 1st Degree Assault, 4 COUNTS 2nd Degree Assault, Wear Dangerous Weapon, Transporting Dangerous Weapon, and Carry Handgun on person.

Preston Nunnally

Nunnally was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center. He was charged with Possession of a Short Barreled Shotgun.
