On Aug. 27, St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy Jason Maletto responded to a call for a disturbance at a Chaptico residence.
His investigation revealed the victim, a 22-year-old Chaptico female who is seven months pregnant, was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect, her live-in boyfriend.
According to the victim, Antowon Devon Rustin, 28, grabbed her by the neck, shoved her to the ground and rubbed her face in the dirt.
Deputy Maletto arrested Rustin and transported him to the Detention Center for the assault.
