Deputy J. Shomper responded to a residence on Liberty Street in Lexington Park on January 16 for a disturbance. Neighbors reported yelling and the sound of glass breakage coming from the residence. Deputies located suspect Antonio Djuan Wallace, 23, of Lexington Park, yelling at his girlfriend outside of the residence.
Initially, Wallace went back inside the residence. However, when Deputy Shomper went back to the apartment to retrieve an item for the girlfriend, Wallace began to yell and act in a disorderly manner. Wallace then took a fighting stance toward Deputy Shomper.
Deputy Shomper told Wallace he was under arrest and to place his hands behind his back โ Wallace refused. Wallace resisted as officers attempted to place him into custody. Eventually, Wallace was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Maryโs County Detention Center. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, and Resisting Arrest.
