A man died Wednesday afternoon in Calvert County after possibly being attacked by his own dogs.
At 1:40 p.m. today, Calvert County Sheriffโs Officers responded to Swallow Lane for a report of a man attacked by a dog. When deputies and medics arrived, they found 77-year-old Raymond Tomco bleeding. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tomco was apparently home alone with his three pit bulls and when his daughter arrived home she noticed blood on the dog’s faces and checked on her father, police have said.
Deputies killed one dog, the one that may have attacked the man, and captured the other two.
Police and a medical examiner are investigating to determine the manโs exact cause of death. He apparently had a preexisting condition and was taking medication to thin his blood.
