Police responded to a motor vehicle accident around 5:45 p.m., Wednesday. A man driving a Jeep Liberty on Great Mills Road experienced a tire blowout, causing him to drive into a telephone pole. He subsequently drove into a shed on Suburban Drive.

The Jeep was carrying three dogs in addition to the driver. No one was seriously injured.

Southern Maryland Electrical Cooperative was called to the scene to assess the damage. A phone line fell from the pole, but there was no substantial loss of service. SMECO reset a breaker on the pole, and will replace the pole in the near future.
