A joint investigation conducted by the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Maryland State Police has resulted in charges of attempted arson and also arson threat against a Lexington park man in connection with an Aug. 22, incident in the 20200 block of Spitfire Court.
Keith Mackall, 44, was taken into custody Saturday afternoon and is currently being held at the St. Maryโs County Detention Center awaiting a bail review.
The investigation revealed the defendant made a threat to burn the home Ms. Mitzi Higgins and also poured a quantity of ignitable liquid inside the dwelling.
Although the defendant did not ignite the liquid, damages to the interior of the home are estimated at $6,000.
An ongoing domestic situation between the defendant and Ms. Higgins is believed to have been the motive for the 12:26 p.m. incident.
