Lexington Park, MDโ€”On Jan.10, the Maryland State Police Trooper Ruth responded to Lucca Way, Lexington Park for the report of an assault.

When Ruth arrived contact was made with the victim. The victim advised she was making a trip to the gas station to purchase cigarettes with the defendant ย and the defendantโ€™s girlfriend. The defendant was identified as Paul Edward Moore, 33, of Tall Timbers.

According to charging documents, โ€œThe victim advised when the defendant came out he did not have any change to give her although there should have been change. The victim advised she and the defendant began arguing over the missing money.โ€

โ€œThe defendant began screaming vulgar statements at her. The victim advised the defendant yelled, โ€˜Iโ€™ll cut your tongue out you worthless bitch,โ€™ and โ€˜shut your f-ing mouth!โ€™,โ€ according to charging documents.

As the couple was traveling southbound Route 5 just north of Flat Iron Road in the area of the Brass Rail Bar, the defendant โ€œreached from the back seat and grabbed the steering wheel jerking it to the right. The victim advised her vehicle was traveling in the direction of a utility pole, and she began screaming,โ€ according to charging documents.
The victim advised the vehicle was traveling, โ€œ65 mph when the incident happened,โ€ according to charging documents.

โ€œThe victim advised she was crying and screaming at the defendant, โ€˜Youโ€™re going to kill us!โ€™ and โ€˜What is wrong with you?โ€™,โ€ according to charging documents.

Moore was charged with reckless endangerment and attempted second-degree assault.

Moore at this time does not have a court date scheduled. Moore faces a maximum jail sentence of 15 years and or a maximum fine of $7,500.
