At 4 a.m. Sept. 13, TFC M. Moore of the Leonardtown barrack was patrolling in the area of Trapp Road in St. Inigoes when he observed a male subject lying on the ground and responded to check on his welfare.
TFC Moore detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person and he was unconscious and breathing. An ambulance was requested to render medical attention.
A search of his person was conducted to obtain identification. A small baggie of cocaine was found by the trooper.
The subject was identified as Derrick Clifton Marshall, 28, of Lexington Park.
Marshall gained consciousness and refused medical attention. He was taken into custody and arrested for possession of cocaine and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
