On April 28 at 6:23 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of University Drive in Waldorf for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to a hospital where he was treated and released.
Investigation showed the victim was near the basketball courts when a male suspect exited a car and fired a shot at him.
Detectives are working several leads, and at this point the shooting does not appear to be random.
