On Oct. 1, at 9:02 p.m., Cpl. E. Johnson initiated a vehicle stop on a vehicle towing a trailer with no registration displayed in Clements.
A subsequent check of the trailer vehicle identification number revealed the trailer had been stolen in North Carolina. The operator of the vehicle, Brice L. Smith, 31 of Conway, South Carolina was placed under arrest, charged with theft over $1,000 and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
