ย At 1:05 a.m. Jan. 1, Charles County Sheriffโ€™s officers responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Port Tobacco Road in Ironsides for the report of an assault. Investigation revealed a 25-year-old Ironsides man was intoxicated and began acting disorderly at a party hosted by the victim, the manโ€™s 29-year-old brother.

ย When the victim took his brother home, an altercation ensued inside the residence. The accused obtained a shotgun and fired a round into the wall.

ย The victim managed to gain control of the gun. The victim and accused continued to struggle outside the residence and a witness called 9-1-1.

ย The Sheriffโ€™s Office arrived and the accused continued being combative with officers, who deployed a Taser to subdue him.

ย The accused was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, first- and second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order and resisting arrest. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. No one was injured.

ย The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the victimโ€™s identity.
