La Plata, MD – Raymond Daniel Posey III, 22, of Nanjemoy, indicted by a Charles County Grand Jury Feb, 23, 2015 for the August 2011 murder of 29-year-old Crystal Keyona Anderson, will face trial before Charles County Circuit Court Judge H. James West Feb. 8.

In a motions hearing Jan. 27, Charles County Public Defender Michael D. Beach said they were ready to move forward.

Anderson’s four-year-old murder case was unsolved until Posey was indicted last year.

The woman was reported missing in Prince Georgeโ€™s County in August 2011.

The Charles County Grand Jury indictment prompted a press conference March 19, 2015 at theย  Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office headquarters in La Plata.

CCSO Detective John Elliott, lead investigator on the case, said at that time they were still hopeful that people who were at a Nanjemoy partyโ€”the last place Crystal was seen aliveโ€”would step forward with more information.

Elliott said Crystal was last seen leaving the party with Posey on the night she disappeared.

โ€œThey did know each other,โ€ Elliott said, adding that robbery was the apparent motive in the crime.

Since last year’s press conference, a second defendant, Darrayl John Wilson, was arrested July 15, 2015 and is also charged with first-degree murder.

Wilson will face a jury trial before West May 2, 2016.

Posey is currently being held in the Maryland Department of Corrections on an unrelated armed robbery case that occurred in Charles County.

Angela Anderson, the mother of the victim, was asked at the March 2015 press conference if she had anything to say to Posey.

โ€œI am going to pray for him and his family,โ€ Anderson said. โ€œI may live to be well into my 90s, but he has robbed me of 10, 20, 30 or 40 years of being with my daughter. He robbed me. There is a hole left in my heart. Nothing has been able to heal that hole.โ€
