The defendant who was tazed at Charles County Circuit Court Judge Robert C. Nalleyโ€™s insistence while representing himself in court July 23 and ultimately cost the judge his seat, was back in court Wednesday, Sept. 24 to face sentencing on violating conditions of his parole, only to learn that heโ€™ll have to wait a little longer before the court passes his sentence.

Charles County Circuit Court Judge Amy J. Bragunier set Nov. 17 as the date for King to face sentencing on the violation of parole charge and agreed with Charles County Assistant Stateโ€™s Attorney Jeremy Widder that another case featuring King will have to be resolved in District Court before sentencing, unless that case is moved over to Circuit Court, where they could be resolved at the same time.

Kingโ€™s legal troubles even before the July 23 incident in Nalley’s courtroom have been extensive and include charges of forging bank notes in King George, Va. in 2013.

โ€œIn 2013, he was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon, which was a violation of his parole,โ€ Widder explained.

Widder said the state was recommending an 18-month sentence and told the judge he had just sent for attorney Rob Castro, who has been retained by the family to represent the defendant.

Castro confirmed to the court that he would be representing King moving forward.

Nalley was removed from the bench Sept. 12 following a Sept. 5 decision by the Maryland Court of Appeals based on the July 23 incident.
