ACCIDENTAL INJURY
On April 3 at approximately 9:18 a.m., officers responded to a parking lot in the 4300 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head for a report of a subject with a gunshot wound to the leg. An investigation revealed that the victim drove himself and his wife to a store, and he remained in the car while she went inside. When his wife returned to the car, she found him bleeding from an apparent gunshot to his groin area; a gun was located nearby. Two customers were in the process of rendering first aid. The victim was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. A subsequent investigation showed the victim kept a loaded handgun in his car and it appears he was looking at it when he accidentally shot himself. Det. C. Gilroy is continuing to investigate.
