Prince Frederick, MD – On March 15, Maryland State Police Tfc. Esnes responded to a call in the area of Calvert Memorial Hospital (CMH). Upon arrival, Esnes made contact with a man identified as Keith M Lucombe, 26 of Huntingtown, who was approaching the mental health facility at the hospital.
After initial contact, it was discovered that Lucombe had walked from Dares Beach Road to the hospital, and was talking on the phone with the initial complainant. Esnes then asked if he could speak with the complainant, and Lucombe agreed.
Upon making contact over the phone with the complainant, it was discovered that Lucombe had been having suicidal thoughts, and that was why he was at the hospital.
Lucombe had told the complainant to โkiss their baby goodbye as he would see them one day again in the afterlife.โ After hanging up with the complainant, Esnes advised Lucombe that he would be escorted into the hospital, and asked if he had any weapons on him. Lucombe told the officer, โI have no weapons of any kind, but I do have two syringes in my right front pants pocket. โ Esnes retrieved them, and they appeared to have been previously used.
Esnes transported Lucombe to CMH, and upon his release from the hospital, arrested him on charges of CDS possession-not marijuana; and CDS possession of paraphernalia.
Lucombe’s next court hearing is tentatively scheduled for June 23 in District Court.
