On September 13, 2015, Deputy K. Flelage responded to the 27000 block of Thompson Corner Road in Mechanicsville, for a reported hit-and-run motor vehicle accident.
A lookout was placed on the suspect’s car, and the vehicle was located approximately two miles from Thompson Corner Road at Aviation Yacht Club Road and Route 234. The car did have damage consistent with a hit-and-run. Deputies identified, Austin J. Rogers, 19, of Mechanicsville, as the driver.
A routine pat-down revealed drug paraphernalia consistent with marijuana and heroin. Rogers was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with CDS Possession, not Marijuana: Heroin, two counts of CDS Possession Paraphernalia, Failure to Stop after Accident and Failure to Notify Owner of Property Damage.
