Clinard Ware

Waldorf, MD— On March 12, Charles County Sheriff’s Officer J. Pogar responded toย Community Drive in Waldorf for the report of domestic assault with a handgun.

When Pogar arrived on the scene, he observed the defendant, identified asย Clinard Ware, 48 of Waldorf, exiting the residence with a small suitcase in his hand. As Pogar approached, Ware put the bag down and began walking back towards the residence.ย 

An investigation revealed that Ware had assaulted a female acquaintance before brandishing a handgun. A loaded handgun was recovered from the scene and Ware admitted to owning more guns.ย 

It was later learned that Ware is prohibited by law from having firearms. On March 23 at 7:45 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at Wareโ€™s residence on Community Drive. Handguns, ammunition and a variety of magazines were seized.

Ware was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree assault. Ware has a tentativeย preliminary hearing scheduled for April 4 in ย District Court.ย 

Ware faces a maximum jail sentence of 35 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.
