California, MD— On March 10, St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Det. Merritt received information from a juvenile victim’s mother, reporting she received news her daughter was involved in a sexual relationship with Darrien R. Davender, 19, California.
Merritt made contact with the victim, and she was interviewed. “The victim advised she had her first sexual contact with Davender within her neighborhood, located in California on or about January of 2015,” according to charging documents.
The victim also advised, “during the time she engaged in sexual intercourse with and performed oral sex on Davender she was 14 years old,” according to charging documents.
Merritt made contact with Davender, who was read his Miranda Rights, which he understood. During the interview, “Davender admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim. Davender confirmed the brief sexual intercourse occurred near the victim’s home,” according to charging documents.
Davender was charged with two counts of fourth-degree sexual offense. At this time, Davender faces a maximum of two years and or a maximum fine of $2,000.
