
Kenneth B. Hudspeth
California, MD— On April 9, Maryland State Police Trooper Christina Capranica responded to Voyage Path in California or the report of an assault.ย
When Capranica arrived on the scene, she made contact with the complainant who advised, her boyfriend (defendant), who was identified as Kenneth B. Hudspeth, 36, of Oceanside, CA “had been drinking rum and beer all evening and was intoxicated,” according to charging documents.ย
The complainant advised she and Hudspeth were arguingย all afternoon. The complainant further advised, “an hour before the Maryland State Police arrived on the scene, Hudspeth hit her (complainant) on the right side of her face with his hand,” according to charging documents.ย
Capranica observed a fist-sized, red and swollen mark to the right side of the complainant’s face. The complainant also had minor cuts and lacerations on the inside of her cheek, from her teeth, which were bleeding.ย
The complainant advised, “she and Hudspeth have been dating for five years,” according to charging documents. Contact was made with Hudspeth, who admitted to pushing her at one point during the evening, while arguing, “but stated he never hit her in the face,” according to charging documents.ย
Hudspeth was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where he was charged with second-degree assault. Hudspeth at this time does not have a scheduled court date.ย
Hudspeth faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
