Mitchell Jerome Cole
Upper Marlboro, MD– Mitchell Jerome Cole, 56, of White Plains was in Prince George’s District Court again Dec.15 for a hearing regarding the death of a woman in Upper Marlboro.
Cole has been charged with the murder of his former girlfriend, Amanda Jones, according to court documents. The medical examiner decided the death a homicide caused by stabbing.
According to court documents “Cole broke into Jones’ home in the 900 block of Andean Goose Way in the Perrywood neighborhood.
“Jones’ daughter went to the home because she couldn’t contact her mother. She found her mother’s body on the basement floor covered in blood,” according to charging documents.
At the beginning of the investigation “Cole waived his Miranda rights and confessed to the murder,” according to court documents.
According to court documents, “Coles waited nearly 40 minutes for Jones to return home before stabbing her to death.”
Coles is being held without bond at the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro.
Cole is scheduled to be in Prince George’s District Court Dec.17 at 10:15 a.m.
Cole is currently charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and first-degree burglary.
