Springdale, MD – On July 20, Larry Shaddy, 66, found himself in a peculiar situation. Shaddy had left his residence and was walking down the 8900 block of Ardwick Ardmore Road.
While walking on that road, he fell over an embankment and found that he could not escape.
Shaddy was missing for seven days, facing the Washington, DC summer humidity with a lack of resources.
Shaddy, a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, may have resorted back to his survival skills he learned while serving his country.
Luckily for Shaddy, a woman walking by noticed him trapped down the embankment and notified the police.ย
First responders used a hydraulic tool to pick up a tree that was covering the embankment and free Shaddy.
The rescue seems to have created a buzz around town, many feeling a sense of wondering how did this happen?
