Jason A. Armstrongย 

Lexington Park, MD— On March.5, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy A. Manns responded to Teddy Way located in Lexington Park for a reported robbery.ย 

When Manns arrived on the scene contact was made with the victim who advised, “an unknown male came into her residence without permission, pointed a gun at her head and demanded drugs and money,” according to charging documents.ย 

The victim stated that someone was knocking at the door, the victim also stated that she (victim) could not see who was knocking so she opened up the main door and, “observed a tall black, light skinned male who she (victim) did not recognize, but was later identified as Jason A. Armstrong, 42, of Lexington Park.ย 

The victim stated Armstrong, “pulled out a silver hand gun which was concealed in his clothing and pointed the firearm in the area of her head from approximately four feet away as she knelt down,” according to charging documents.ย 

The victim advised that Armstrong claimed he lost $2,000 to the victim’s boyfriend while gambling and he wanted his money back. The victim advised that Armstrong,” told her to give him $200 or he was going to come back in a week and blow everyone’s head off in the residence.”ย 

The victim stated Armstrong, “asked if she had any weed or other drugs. The victim advised she told Armstrong she only had a small amount or marijuana. The victim stated she handed Armstrong a Rubbermaid container with a red top containing marijuana,” according to charging documents. “

When Armstrong left the residence the victim advised one of her friends followed the vehicle and was giving her (victim) updated locations of Armstrong’s vehicle which she relayed to the 911 operator.ย 

Contact was made with George Young who stated the description provided by his girlfriend. “He believes the suspect has a last name of Armstrong and was recently released from prison,” according to charging documents.ย 

Based on the description of the subject and the suspect vehicle, deputies were able to locate and stop the listed vehicle on Alton Lane. The vehicle was occupied by four subjects, including Armstrong.ย 

After all four subjects were detained and separated. A search for weapons was conducted and a Taurus 9 mm hand gun was located under the driver’s seat.ย 

According to charging documents, “The defendant’s criminal history revealed he (Armstrong) was previous convicted of robbery on May.5, 2006 and was sentenced to 10 years in DOC and was just recently released from prison. This is one of his convictions which prohibits him (Armstrong) from possessing a regulated firearm.”

Armstrong was charged with numerous offenses, the most serious being robbery, armed robbery, firearm use, first-degree assault ย and home invasion.ย 

Armstrong at this time does not have a scheduled court date, however Armstrong faces a maximum jail sentence of 225 years and six months and/or a maximum fine of $43,000.ย
