Lexington Park, MDโ€”On Jan.31, St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office Deputy L. Johnson responded to a residence at Valley Estates Drive in Lexington Park. When Johnson arrived on the scene contact was made with the victim, who advised while she (victim) was gone on Jan 31 she returned home to find her residence in disarray.

The victim advised, โ€œThe defendant Jason E. Wright, 32, of Landover has never resided at her residence. However, Wright has a key. The victim Wright has been living out of his vehicle, so she allowed him to store items in her residence,โ€ according to charging documents.

The victim advised, her inflatable couch, ottoman and mattress were sliced open and cannot be inflated anymore. She advised the inflatable furniture was valued at $158. Johnson observed food items including frozen foods, steaks, ice cream and chips, strung about the kitchen floor out of their packaging.

The victim advised, โ€œShe found multiple pieces of clothing and three pairs of shoes cut into pieces. Johnson observed the clothing items, and most of them were brand new with tags still on them,” according to charging documents.

Johnson did not observe any signs of forced entry into the front door of the residence. According to the victim, โ€œWright is the only person who has access to her residence,โ€ according to charging documents.

Wright was sentenced April 4 to 13 days in the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center for malicious destruction of property. Wright was also ordered to pay $1,500 in restitution to the victim.
