Harold L. Seymore

California,MD— On June 17, 2015, Maryland State Police Trooper Christopher Ditoto responded to MacArthur Boulevard in California for a reported suspicious person entering a vacant house.ย

When Ditotoย arrived on the scene he made contact with the complainant who advised that a female had entered a residence directly behind theirs via the back door. The complainant also informed the trooper that the house the female entered had been vacantย for approximatelyย one year.ย

“I (Ditoto) responded to the address and attempted to make contact with whoever was inside. While at the front door I could hear people inside but could not see anyone moving. I (Ditoto) observed the rear sliding glass door had been broken,” according to charging documents.ย

Whileย returning to the front of the residence to make contact with the complainant again, Ditoto saw someone running out the back door of the house. Both defendants were detained and positively identified. Harold L. Seymore, 37, of Lexington Park, denied being in the residence at all and continued to yell, “This is [expletive] bullshit,” according to charging documents.

Seymore was instructed to stop screaming and to be quiet ย and he refused, ย yelling again, “why don’t you make me,” according to charging documents. At that time, Seymore was placed into a patrol vehicle in an attempt to reduce the disturbance.

“After arriving at the detention center Cpl.Hunt advised me Seymore had spontaneously stated, that ‘it is bullshit’ he is getting locked up just for trying to get some [expletive] in a vacant house,” according to charging documents.

Afterwards, Seymore became extremely disruptive and the Corrections Officers were forcedย to place him in a cell until he calmed down. ย

Seymore was transported to the St.Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with burglary first-degree, and disorderly conduct. Seymore has a court date scheduled for April.28 at the St.Mary’s County District Court.ย

Seymore faces a maximum jail sentence of 20 years and two months and or a maximum fine of $500.ย
