On 8/13/2021, Cpl. J. Palumbo conducted a traffic stop in the area of Point Lookout Road & Chaptico Road, Mechanicsville, MD. Upon making contact with the occupants, it was determined that a physical assault had recently occurred between the two. Further investigation revealed the suspect, Cherry Bien Sy, 37 of
Mechanicsville did physically assault the victim. Sy was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Second Degree Assault.
On 8/14/2021, Tfc E. Ruggles conducted a traffic stop in the area of Worth Avenue, California, MD. Upon making contact with the operator, it was determined that he had given a fictitious name. Once he was positively identified, it was discovered that he had an active warrant through Colquitt County, Georgia. The driver was identified as Kip Shawn Raynor, 30 of Albany, GA. He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Fraud-Personal Identity to Avoid Prosecution and held pending extradition to Georgia.
On 8/14/2021, Tpr Jeremy Pope responded to Walmart, California, MD for a reported theft. Upon arrival and making contact with Loss Prevention personnel, it was determined the suspect, identified as Wendy Michelle Veney, 50 of California, MD did steal merchandise totaling more than $100. Veney was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Theft $100 to under $1500.
On 8/15/2021, Tfc E. Ruggles was in the area of Great Mills Road & Signature Lane, Lexington, MD when he observed a known individual identified as Dana Marie Royster. Tfc Ruggles confirmed that Royster had an active arrest warrant through Calvert County and made contact with her. Royster also attempted to discard a CDS smoking device which was retrieved. Royster was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possess-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possess Paraphernalia.
On 8/16/2021, Tpr Jeremy Pope and Tfc E. Ruggles responded to the Pax River Hotel, Lexington Park, MD for a reported Trespassing. Investigation revealed that Richard Alvin Nolan, 33 entered a room at the motel and stayed without paying. Nolan was located and it was also determined that he was wanted by MSP Leonardtown on three (3) active warrants and St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office on two (2) active warrants. Nolan was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Burglary-Fourth Degree-Dwelling; and Trespass:Private Property.
On 8/17/2021, Tpr Koontz responded to the Super 8 Motel, Lexington Park, MD for a reported assault. While on the scene and searching the premises for the suspect, Tpr Koontz observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot occupied by two individuals. A K9 scan was conducted with a positive alert. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed CDS Paraphernalia and CDS-Not Marijuana (Cocaine, Heroin). The occupants were identified as Lewis Tyler Yates, 29 of Lexington Park, MD and Tamara Joell Butler, 30 of Waldorf, MD. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possess-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possess Paraphernalia.
