Prince Frederick, MD – April 11, 2020 โ€“ The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin placing asphalt on MD 2/4 (Solomons Island Road) as part of the overall improvement project in Prince Frederick.

The overnight work will begin Sunday night, April 12, on both the northbound and southbound lanes.ย

Single and double lane closures can be expected between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, weather permitting.

There will be at least one lane of travel open during overnight construction. The improvement project is expected to be completed spring of 2020.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.ย  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here, and slow down in construction zones.ย  For a list of all major MDOT SHA projects, go to roads.maryland.gov.
