Mega Millions and Powerball produced four big winners across the nation this past weekend, including one here in Maryland.

A ticket purchased in Hyattsville for the April 17, 2020 Mega Millions drawing delivered a $4 million prize. Meanwhile, the April 18 Powerball drawing produced three $1 million winners in California, Florida and Ohio.

The Mega Millions winning ticket was sold at Altera Convenience Store, located at 3400 Toledo Terrace in Hyattsville. The ticket matched the first five winning numbers in the April 17 drawing โ€“ 13, 35, 39, 46 and 55 โ€“ but missed out on winning the jackpot because it did not match the Mega Ball number, 14. The base prize for matching the first five numbers is $1 million, but the ticket had the Megaplier option, which multiplies all prizes except for the jackpot. With a 4x Megaplier drawn in the April 17 drawing, the winnerโ€™s prize was quadrupled to $4 million.

The winner has 182 days from the drawing date to claim the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The Lottery strongly encourages the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe location until claiming. Winning tickets can also be claimed by mail using the mail-in claim form available on the How To Claim page.

With no jackpot winner on April 17, the jackpot for the next Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, April 21, rolled to an estimated annuity value of $164 million with an estimated cash option of $138.8 million.

The Powerball winners in California, Florida and Ohio matched the first five numbers in the April 18 drawing โ€“ 4, 44, 46, 56 and 63 โ€“ but did not win the jackpot because they didnโ€™t match the Powerball number, 19. With no jackpot winner, the jackpot for the next Powerball drawing on Wednesday, April 22 rolled to an estimated annuity value of $29 million with an estimated cash option of $23.8 million.
