On Monday, May 21 at 11:26 p.m., Trooper Rezza initiated a traffic stop on a silver Dodge Intrepid on Route 235 in the area of Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood for exceeding the posted speed limit.
Contact was made with the driver, William Patrick Russell, Jr., 21, of Leonardtown. An odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath and the vehicle. Russell was arrested for driving under the influence.
A search incident to arrest revealed a plastic baggie of marijuana in the vehicle. Russell was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and also charged with possession of marijuana. He was held pending a bond review.
Additionally, contact was also made with John Michael William Snavely, 21, of Hollywood. He was charged on a civil citation for providing alcohol to two underage female passengers in the vehicle.
