Great Mills, MD— On May 17, ย St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Muschette responded to St. Michael’s Circle in Great Mills for the report of a domesticย assault.ย
Contact was made with the victim, who advised she was involved in a verbal argument with the defendant–identified as Rasheed K. Mickens, 30, of Great Mills.ย
The victim advised that the argumentย started over “infidelity and the house being messy,” according to charging documents.ย
The victim also advised the argument became physical when Mickens tackled the victim and began punching her in the face with a closed fist multiple times while she laid on the ground.ย
While on the ground the victim advised that Mickens began to strangle her before dragging her throughout the home. When the attack ended, the victim advised, “she suffered a panic attack from the assault,” according to charging documents.ย
Muschette observed a small scratch to the victim’s neck that appeared to be in the healing process with a scab forming. The deputy state the victim did have a small bruise on the left side of her face she advised was from the assault.ย
Mickens has been charged with assault second degree. Mickens has a scheduled court date set for July 21 at the St. Mary’s County District Courthouse. Mickens faces a maximum jail sentence of ten years and or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
