Nanjemoy, MD – State authorities are investigating the destruction of an abandoned motorcycle in Charles County. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the incident occurred Saturday evening, Aug. 5 and reported by a passing motorist around 10:45 p.m. The cycle is described as a 2016 Honda CBR 1000.

โ€œThe motorcycle was located abandoned and burned,โ€ a deputy fire marshal reported. โ€œThe motorcycle also sustained damage from being shot numerous times with a shotgun, which contributed to the fire.โ€

Four volunteer firefighters responded to the blaze and brought the flames under control in five minutes. No injuries were reported.

Damage to the cycle, which state authorities said was owned by Brian Pierce, is estimated at $12,000. No arrests have been made.
