On Saturday, March 17, 2012 beginning at 7:00 pm 10 Troopers from the LaPlata Barrack participated in a Checkpoint Strike Force DUI Saturation Patrol. The saturation was concentrated on the Waldorf areas of Route 301, Route 205, Route 228, Route 5 and Route 925. This area was selected because of the high level of intoxicated drivers that travel through that area. During the entire operation, 75 vehicles were stopped, 40 citations, 45 warnings and 29 Safety Equipment Repair Orders (SERO) were issued. 9 subjects were given Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which resulted in 4 being arrested for DUI. The assignment concluded at 3:00 am on 3/18/2012 for a total duration of 8 hours.
