Brandywine, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit has arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in Brandywine earlier this month. The suspect is Muhammad Ali, 34 of Bladensburg. Heโ€™s charged with the fatal shooting of Tyrone Shirriel Jr., 46 of Oxon Hill.

On Nov. 11 at about 6 p.m., patrol officers were called to the 13600 block of Tower Road for a shooting. Officers found Shirriel outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with the victim prior to the shooting. The suspect and the victim were acquaintances. Ali is charged with first-and second-degree murder. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
