CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. – Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Capitol Heights on Monday. The victim is 39-year-old Nicholas Leonard of Silver Park Drive in Suitland. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act.

On March 19, at about 4:15 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched for the report of gunshots in the area of East Mill Avenue and Pepper Mill Drive. While canvassing, the officers discovered the victim in a car in the 6800 block of Drylog Street. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case.
