Mechanicsville, MD- Itโ€™s festival season across the nation. Budds Creek Motocross Park is hosting Budds Fest Music Festival, rain or shine.ย Gates open at noon on Friday, April 22 with free camping.

Scheduled for April 22 through April 24, the event is being compared to the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair of the late-1960s and features the state’s top bands, according to event organizers.ย 

Groups to perform on Friday and Saturday include MX 51 Band, Hydra FX, Come Back Iris, No Last Call, Kelly Bell, and Night Hawks. No Bad Apples and No Green Jelly Beanz are scheduled to play on Saturday.

On Sunday, event patrons can enjoy acoustical music, Driving Muzzy, God Shed Eyes and Sam Grow.

Weekend passes are $40, with a Sunday-only ticket priced at $20. Children 12 and younger get into the event for free. With no sell-outs, tickets are on sale at the track on event day.

According to the Budds Creek web site, Executive Inn and Suites in Leonardtown is offering an event discount called โ€œStay with the Stars.” Call 301-475-3000 for more information.

There are some event rules to ensure patron safety this weekend.ย 

Everyone must remain in their tents or campers during curfew, from 2 a.m. to sun-up.

There are rules with the weekend festival, such as no underage drinking, no drinking between 2 and 6 a.m. All vehicles that come to the festival must stay parked. Bicycles, scooters, and golf-carts are not permissible at the festival.

Event-goers will not be allowed to bring in their pets or personal stash of fireworks, and they must have identification on them at all times.

Event organizers encourage all attendants to obey all state laws and use the indoor bathroom facilities and the showers. Organizers warn that any type of fighting will result in jail time.
