On Dec. 13, Cpl. E Johnson responded to Queen Tree Road in Mechanicsville, for a report of an assault in progress.
Investigation revealed Jon Robert Letcher, 45 of Mechanicsville, had pushed the victim and squeezed the victim so tight she was unable to breathe. When deputies arrived they found Letcher naked in the kitchen area of the residence. Letcher appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Letcher was arrested for second-degree assault. Search incident to arrest revealed a vial of suspected phencyclidine (PCP) on his person. Letcher was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
