The St. Maryโ€™s Hospital Foundation proudly presented a DAISY award last month to Colleen Corliss, RN, Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics. In her nomination form, she was described as showing how โ€œshe truly has a purpose for her employment at St. Maryโ€™s Hospital.โ€

According to the family of a patient, โ€œColleen really enjoys what she does.โ€ Her effort showed in the โ€˜CARE with RESPECTโ€™ she provided to the patient. The patientโ€™s family was pleased with Corlissโ€™ efforts to ensure her patient was comfortable and answered questions to make sure the patient understood what needed to be done once discharged.ย

โ€œMy husband never complained about meds being on time or hospitality and no matter how busy she could have been, she made sure he was satisfied with care,โ€ wrote the wife of Corlissโ€™ patient.

Corliss received a certificate that read: โ€œIn deep appreciation of all you do, who you are and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.โ€ย  In addition, she received a sculpture entitled โ€œA Healerโ€™s Touch,โ€ as well as a cash gift.
