At 11:19 p.m., on Jan. 3, Charles County Sheriffโ€™s officers responded to a residence in the 12800 block of Riverside Road in Nanjemoy for the report of a shooting. Investigation revealed the victim was lying in bed when he was shot in the arm with a pellet from a shotgun.

Just prior to the shooting, the victim heard a vehicle with a loud exhaust pass his residence and then heard a sound he believed was the vehicle backfiring. He then felt pain in his arm, realized he had been shot with a pellet and notified police. The victim, a 47-year-old man, was transported by ambulance to Fort Washington Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, at 11:22 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 3100 block of Port Tobacco Road for the report of another shooting. Investigation revealed the residence had been struck by a round from a shotgun. The victim reported hearing a vehicle with a loud exhaust leave the area after the shooting.
