At 8:58 p,m. April 7, TFC J. Linger of the Leonardtown trooper barrack stopped a vehicle on Charlotte Hall Road at Oaks Roads, Charlotte Hall, for having an inoperable tag light.

The driver was identified as Grancis Augustius Gross, 46, of Waldorf. A check through MVA indicated his license was suspended. A check through NCIC indicated that the tags displayed had been reported stolen through Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Department. A check through MVA showed the vehicle was not registered.

A search incident to arrest was conducted and CDS paraphernalia was located in his pants and jacket pockets. A smoking device with burnt CDS residue was located under the gear shift boot.

Gross was charged with two counts of Theft, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Driving while Suspended and numerous traffic violations. He was taken to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
