On Saturday, October 15, 2011, the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department hosted an open house for fire prevention to show what they do to keep people safe in their respective communities.ย ย
They had ambulances and fire engines open for children to go inside and look at first hand. The goals behind these events are to show mostly the children in the community as well as their parents some of the operations of the fire service first hand, by looking at the equipment they use and explaining how they work. There were also plenty of handout supplies for them to take home, as well as food prepared, and to top it off the moon bounce which all the children enjoyed.
