Prince Frederick, MD – October 11, 2019 – The 2020 Census presentations scheduled to be hosted this month by the Calvert County Office on Aging at the North Beach and Southern Pines senior centers have been rescheduled. Both presentations by U.S. Census Bureau Partnership Specialist Lee Osberry Jr. will be held on the following dates and times:
• Southern Pines Senior Center (20 Appeal Lane, Lusby)
Friday, Nov. 1, 11 a.m.
• North Beach Senior Center (9010 Chesapeake Ave., North Beach)
Wednesday, Jan. 8, 11 a.m.
Citizens are encouraged to visit the Calvert County 2020 Census webpage at www.CalvertCountyMd.gov/Census2020 to stay up to date with upcoming census-related events in the community, as well as information on when and how 2020 Census information will be collected, its impact on the local community, why participation matters and more.
The U.S. Constitution mandates that a census of the population be conducted once every 10 years. Census data is used to reapportion congressional representation among the states and determine how billions in federal funds are distributed to states and local communities every year for services and infrastructure, including health care, jobs, schools, roads and businesses.
