Officer at fault in collision in Prince Frederick

On September 7 at 8:49 p.m. DFC J.G. Denton, Jr. was responding to a priority call in his agency vehicle, a 2013 Ford Interceptor, with lights and siren activated, northbound on Md. Rt. 4 at Church Street in Prince Frederick. 

A vehicle driven by David W. Kent, 62 of Ontario, at the southbound light of the intersection, proceeded through his green turn light in order to make a U-turn and travel north on Md. Rt. 4.  At this time, Kent’s vehicle, a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country sedan, struck DFC Denton’s vehicle on the driver’s side.  DFC Denton was transported via ambulance to Calvert Memorial Hospital.

He was treated for minor injuries and released.  Mr. Kent and his three passengers did not suffer any injuries. 

DFC Denton was determined to be at fault.
