Brooklyn Park, MD — A suspected armed robber is in custody after a foot chase in Brooklyn Park.
Around 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Anne Arundel County Police answered an armed robbery call at the 7-Eleven on 4000 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park.
An officer was in the area about to conduct a check of the 7-Eleven when he saw a man matching the suspect description running across Ritchie Highway, away from the 7-Eleven.
The officer gave chase on foot and caught up with him at Tungsten and 2nd Street, where he was taken into custody. The 7-Eleven clerk was able to positively ID Kaleb William Smith as the suspect. Smith had a knife and money on him.
Smith, 37, of Brooklyn, was arrested and transported to Northern District for booking.
He’s charged with the following:

- Armed Robbery
- Assault-1st Degree
- Assault-2nd Degree
- Theft: $100 to under $1500
